Client Events Worth Attending: Start With Their Interests, Not Your Collection

How luxury brands can design client events that people genuinely want to attend — built around shared interests, lightly structured and followed by meaningful contact.

Too many brand events are product presentations with a glass of champagne. Clients notice. The events they remember — and come back for — start with what interests them: art, food, craft, wellbeing, travel, the people they will meet.

Research on younger audiences points the same way. In Eventbrite and dcdx’s January 2025 Fourth Spaces report, 62% of surveyed US adults aged 18–35 preferred lightly structured events and 79% were interested in events combining multiple interests. It is a US survey of younger adults rather than luxury clients specifically, but it reflects a wider appetite for experiences with room to connect.

Begin with your clients, not your calendar. Use your clienteling notes to understand what different groups care about, and design a small number of events for them rather than one event for everyone. An intimate supper for twelve may build more loyalty than a launch for three hundred.

Pair the brand with something worth the evening: a maker in conversation, a private viewing, a chef’s table, a morning of movement and breakfast, an expert on a subject your clients collect. Let the product sit naturally within the experience rather than at its centre.

People rarely clear an evening to see a product. They clear it for an experience they could not have arranged themselves.

Keep structure light. A clear welcome, a moment of real content and plenty of time to talk. Brief your advisors to host, introduce guests to one another and listen — not to sell.

Invite personally and make attendance easy. A considered invitation from the advisor who knows the client, with details on who else may be there, is far more effective than a mass email.

The event is only half the work. Follow up personally within days, referencing what the client enjoyed, and record what you learned with their consent. That is where an evening becomes a relationship.

Haus of Amber conceives and produces private client events, launches and activations — and our own Supper Club shows how intimate, interest-led gatherings build lasting community.
